Tis the reason

"For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." Isaiah 9:6-7 (NKJV)

As we edge closer and closer to Christmas time we get busy, we have deadlines for uni, we're packing, eating as many roasts as we can consume, making plans to travel back home, figuring times out to see family and friends, working, getting into the Christmas spirit - it's easy to forget the true reason why we celebrate Christmas in the first place.

This verse has resonated within my heart for a while now and I love how it just exuberates the many incredible names and attributes that Jesus entails. He grants hope, peace, love and justice and assurance for everything that our future holds which makes my heart eternally thankful and grateful that He chose to come down to earth and was born in such a humble way, lived in such a humble way and died in such a brutal way only to rise up again for you and I.

It leaves me speechless and honoured to serve a God that is so intentional in His relationship with us, excludes no one and is the very true meaning of love itself.
